The process continues as we learn to serve others. Being like Jesus is learning to give yourself to love and serve the needs of others. Jesus said that He came not to be served but to serve and give Himself for others. We come to discover that the gifts, talents and skills that God has entrusted to us are to serve the purpose of helping advance His Kingdom. We are to employ our gifts to benefit Christ’s church so that His body is edified. This third step is to become involved in volunteer ministry. Find a place in the body to begin to employ your gifts and help the church fulfill her mission and purpose. Areas of service range from weekend service helps to care and support ministries that minister to the needs of God’s people outside the church walls.
